Berlin ist unter diesen Gesichtspunkten der auf den Punkt gebrachte politische Wille, gleichzeitig die auf den Punkt gebrachte Ästhetik des ‚Weltzustandes‘. Kriesche reflektiert die Teilung der Stadt, die für ihn nicht nur eine Teilung Deutschlands, sondern auch eine Weltteilung ist. a media project by the media artist consisting of several parts. dieter ronte summed up the complexity of this project in a powerful way: “in the text on ‚Kunstwerk berlin’ kriesche states: “artworks are the continuous attempt to represent the world. nothing more. art itself is the ‘state of the world’ focused into a representation. politics is the continuous attempt to offer a solution for the problems of this world. from these aspects berlin is focused political will, at the same time the focused aesthetic of the ‘state of the world’.” Kriesche reflects on the division of the city, which for him is not just a division of Germany but also a division of the world. He sees its origin in the division principle of all life generally, as in the division of the brain into two hemispheres as a highly organic expression.
